January 2025 Reiki and other news

To say that I was pretty quiet in 2024 is definitely an understatement where newsletters are concerned. It turned out to be something of a personal transition year for me that focused my attention inward. Behind the scenes, though, I continued to teach and see lovely people one-to-one for Reiki and Mentoring.

But you deserve some updates.

So what's come to an end and what’s coming up?

With unavoidable changes at our beloved venue for the annual Reiki Residential Retreat, 2024 saw the end of an era. After running this retreat there for 20 years, I have decided to offer four non-residential Reiki day-retreats a year instead. Whilst nothing can replace the three-day format and the richness and depth it enabled us to enjoy together, a quarterly day-retreat remains a wonderful opportunity for Reiki, Development, and Community. I am making a maximum of 12 places available, and experience tells me there will likely be a waiting list. You can find forthcoming dates at www.martinemoorby.com/events/reiki-energy-retreat-day.

Meanwhile, I have been teaching EFT to lay people and professionals alike since 2005. I also volunteered with the Training and Accreditation Committee at the EFT International educational charity for over 10 years, to establish rigorous standards and help both EFT and the charity establish a solid reputation in Training and Practice.

February 2025 will see me deliver the last EFT Level 1 and 2 Training Workshop, though I will continue to offer Practitioner Mentoring and Support.

Of particular interest, perhaps, I am running a Reiki Master Teacher Training course on 8–9 March 2025 in Harrogate.

Monthly Reiki Circles have remained online and have been both well-attended and provided the space for profound experiences of healing and community.

I am now opening them to all Reiki people, unlimited numbers per session, as I have modified the format:

We start with HatsuRei Ho including a distance empowerment and then go together to the Reiki Crystal Dome for self-healing and to offer healing to others. Sessions last about an hour and it’s free to attend.

If you are Reiki-attuned, the easiest way to receive the Reiki News is to join my Reiki Circle WhatsApp group. All you need to do is send me your mobile number. Of course you can turn off the sound for notifications to avoid too much pinging, but do remember to check for updates ????. It’s proved the best way, for me at least, to remain in touch with the Reiki community.  

I will be repeating the successful and useful Journey Through the Chakras later in the year and have been asked to create a Trust Your Intuition workshop – more about this later. All workshops are in-person, in Harrogate.

Online, I am a tutor on the 2024–2025 Diploma in Spiritual Coaching and Caregiving. Some of you have attended this with me in Harrogate, in its previous incarnation as the Diploma in Practical Spirituality and Wellness. It works remarkably well online, though I will concede that it is not the same experience we shared in person. It cannot be. And, yet, it is enjoyable and, as always, I am learning a lot!

My one-to-one session days, in-person or online, are now Tuesdays and Wednesdays only.

I am slowly contemplating my next steps, what I have yet to offer, and when I may retire altogether from session work. It’s neither urgent nor immediate, but if you fancy learning with me or having a session, to discuss your spiritual journey or to seek healing, do think about reaching out sooner rather than later.
