Born in France, my love of the English language brought me to this country over 35 years ago. After gaining a Masters Degree in France, I qualified as a teacher at the University of Leeds in 1983 (PGCE). I taught French for 17 years in secondary education. For most of this time, I held the post of Head of Modern Languages.
Through my own personal, professional and spiritual development, I discovered the potential we all have for living authentic and rewarding lives. Eventually I left teaching to dedicate myself full-time to creating a successful Coaching, Mentoring and Therapy practice. I offer one-to-one appointments in person in Harrogate or internationally via Zoom.
The professional qualifications I hold include Reiki Master/Teacher, Reiki Drum Technique Master/Teacher, Life Coaching, NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Group Facilitation, Stress Management and Energy Psychology: EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) Practitioner, Trainer and Mentor.
I am a Spiritual Companion Educator trained with Dr William Bloom (www.spiritualcompanions.org) and accredited by the College of Teachers.
As a qualified teacher of Reiki and EFT, my courses lead to professional certification. The EFT courses follow the requirements laid out and accredited by the AAMET (Association for the Advancement of Meridian Energy Techniques) I offer on-going support and mentoring to students, practitioners and trainers as appropriate. As a member of the Accreditation Panel at AAMET, I am involved in raising professional standards of training and integration of EFT into mainstream healthcare.
For 14 years and until 2014, I was part of the Complementary Therapy Team offering Reiki and Massage to cancer patients at the then Macmillan Dales Unit, now the Sir Robert Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre at Harrogate Hospital.
I am passionate about supporting others in the development of their unique talents, interests and personal goals. Besides meeting individuals on a one-to-one basis, for development or therapy, I have written and delivered bespoke workshops for groups in a variety of settings, including professional and educational settings.
I take a very down-to-earth approach to my work, balancing the inspirational with the practical. We all lead busy lives so I believe in selecting the right tools and techniques to achieve the desired results in a realistic timeframe.
I have worked successfully with post-traumatic stress, anxiety and panic attacks, abuse issues, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, work-related stress and performance. My approach is always tailored to the individuals’ needs, and I believe in teaching my clients skills and strategies to enable them to help themselves.
I am currently a member of the Reiki Association (TRA), the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), the Association for the Advancement of Meridian Techniques (AAMET) and on the practitioner register of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) for Reiki.
