The Northern Reiki Retreat

The Haybergill Centre, Cumbria

Thursday 7th May (eve.) - Sunday 10th May 2009

This three-day retreat, now in its fifth year, is a wonderful opportunity for rest, renewal and learning. Hosted by Reiki Master Martine Moorby and her co-facilitator Mandy Pearson, the retreat offers a flexible combination of Reiki practice and meditations, energy work, workshop-style activities, and confidential life-coaching to address more personal questions.

It is a unique opportunity to:

In 2008, as in previous years, the pace was relaxed, with the emphasis on choice - to be in the company of others, to enjoy the wonderful setting alone in quiet reflection, or to ask for support and guidance along the way. For some, this year's retreat was about developing their Reiki practice and trying out new techniques or experiencing new approaches. For others the experience was a time to take stock on their spiritual journey and draw fresh inspiration and strength for the coming year. The participants make up their own "menu" from the options available.

After four years of co-facilitating the retreat with Martine, Amanda Dale is no longer available, having moved permanently to Spain. Martine is sorry to lose the able assistance of a good friend but absolutely delighted that Mandy Pearson has agreed to take over the role.

Martine and Mandy, both experienced facilitators and coaches, share a passionate belief in people's capacity to grow, develop and empower themselves, and like to bring a blend of practicality, humour and open-heartedness to their work. Drawing on a wide range of resources, exercises, meditations and activities, they are able to tailor the focus of each day to the energy and interests of the group, whilst very mindful that any retreat is a completely unique experience for each individual.

Their intention is to provide a nurturing and encouraging environment in which participants can feel free to ask for and find what they need. They also provide a mini-resource centre/library.

Although not specifically designed as a 'group event', participants together create a supportive atmosphere in which much laughter, life experience and Reiki is shared!

Sharing Thoughts and Experiences

Sharing Thoughts and Experiences.

To keep costs to a minimum, we have chosen a venue where the accommodation is based on sharing. The 6 bedrooms on the ground floor, most of which open onto a sheltered decking area leading to the garden, all have their own en-suite bathroom. There are two further dormer rooms. We are offering about 12 places.

You are invited to attend this very special event at a very special venue. All Reiki styles and lineages are welcome, so long as you hold at least Second Degree level.

The three days are intended to help you access even more of your potential in working with this universal energy.

Group Treatment

The retreat is also about your self-development. You will have the opportunity to reflect on where you are in your life and explore the issues of change that learning and practising Reiki may have invited, maybe to work something out with the support of others and consider options for the future, or simply have some quiet "me-time".

Above all the retreat is designed to offer you a safe and comfortable space in which to nurture yourself and take what you need.

Places on the retreat are going to be limited, so to find out how to book your place on this special event, send an e-mail now to: Martine Moorby, or click herePDF Icon to download an application form.

Testimonials:

" I booked myself on the weekend as a much needed mini Reiki- MOT for myself- I left 3 days later with some much needed (but entirely unexpected) clarity on three major life issues which I have been facing for sometime, knew I needed to do "something" about but never managed to find the time to work them through. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough- try it - it might just change your life, if you are willing to!"
LM, Glasgow

"....Haybergill was a wonderful experience, with lots of Reiki and time for personal reflection. I came away feeling cleansed and calm but also with lots to think about".
Julie Cooper, North Yorkshire

"The weekend retreat at Haybergill 2005 was just superb and offered the opportunity to partake in Reiki, relaxed group discussion sessions, or one-to-one sessions either with another member of the group or the facilitators, or time either to read or walk or have a sauna or listen to music or carry out any other creative pastime or if you wanted, to 'just be'. A lot of time was spent in the dining room, having discussions around the breakfast, lunch or dinner table whilst eating the varied and delicious food on offer! If 'getting away from it all' in the company of like-minded people appeals to you, I'd thoroughly recommend this retreat."
Lynn Guiller, Surrey

"Haybergill was in a very beautiful setting and the feeling of peace and tranquillity stayed with me throughout the weekend and long afterwards. Martine and Amanda were wonderful facilitators and the group discussions were very useful and I learnt a lot, especially about myself. The food was excellent too! I will definitely go again if I can."
Helen Smith, West Midlands

"The retreat was a condensed holiday time, incredibly refreshing and gently empowering. The combination of Martine's and Amanda's work gave me the opportunity to reassess some of the most crucial issues in my life at the moment, and put me back in touch with a higher dimension of understanding and perception of those issues. The result was a fully energised, vibrant self, ready for the next chapter. The food was heavenly crafted as well, to give a rounded touch to this experience of recharging and renewal. I would definitely recommend it !!!"
Flor Fernandez, Glasgow

"I enjoyed a fabulous long weekend to do exactly what I wanted. There was real choice to join in the activities of energy work, discussion and Reiki sessions or to go for a walk, read a book, quietly contemplate or have a one to one session with either of the facilitators. Martine and Amanda are a wonderful team, warm and giving. They taught me that less is more! I learnt a lot about myself, cleared up a few problems and came home feeling refreshed and reinvigorated ready to return to my own busy healing practice. Food fabulous, centre beautiful."
Ruth Chambers, Reiki Master, NLP Master Practitioner, Yoga Teacher

"Among the benefits I have taken from this retreat, is being more focused and calmer about my future (and past), and I have re-found my lively energetic spirit, that had been a bit buried for a while."
JH, London

"Thank you so much Martine and Amanda for such an enlightening experience at Haybergill. It has given me the much needed space and time to think, away from the madness of everyday life! I now feel I have the tools to help me go forward."
Marilyn H, London, April 2007

"Thank you Martine for the lovely exercise holding the energy in the Tan Den I used it very quickly on the M6 when the blinding rain came down, it worked wonderfully, I seemed to fly home. Thank you isn't enough Martine all the thought and work you put into the Reiki weekend was wonderful, you and Amanda work so well you bounce off each other it just works."
P McNicol, Cumbria, April 2007

"The time at the retreat made me realise what a wonderful world we truly live in and how blessed we all are, something that we don't always see. I now feel that I have more tools to work with in my life, and for that I thank you all."
N Henriques, London, April 2007

"Many thanks for the wonderful opportunity you gave to all of us , not only to heal and change all that needed healing and changing, but also a chance to meet so many loving and kind people...I now firmly believe that there are enough loving and kind people on earth to make it a safe and happy place."
R Kumar, London, April 2007

"The retreat is the kind of experience that helps one to keep that inner stillness in one's centre even when all about is hustle and bustle!"
A Williamson, Lancashire, April 2007

"A most rewarding weekend with lively, friendly, like-minded people."
Sandra T., London, April 2007

"This is much more than a retreat, it’s more an “engage” where a total immersion in the world of Reiki can bring about some profound changes to physical health and understanding of the nature of Reiki and the Universe as a whole."
Nick Blacknell, Surrey, 2008

"The retreat was better than expected. For the first time in too many years, I had time for me and I’ve found that when life gets tough, I try to remember how I felt on the last day of the retreat and life becomes more manageable. The week-end was well-structured but at the same time very flexible, with no compulsion to ‘take part’. The added bonus was excellent food and even better company."
C Buecheler, Peterborough, 2008

"First time Reiki Retreat. Fantastic experience. Haybergill is a wonderful and peaceful place to spend time with lovely people. Money well spent. The only place I have been to, where the owners bent over backwards to meet their guests’ dietary requirements."
Georgette Forster-Pert, Hants, 2008

"The retreat made me take stock of some of the things in my life that needed to be faced or changed. By the end of the course, I was feeling much more relaxed and had resolved some issues. I wish I had started the retreat in the frame of mind in which I finished it."
Liz Denton, Scotland, 2008
